Sky Mirror (New York, picture 1, more information) geeft de natuur terug aan mensen.

This sympathetic artwork Glasses Trees by Thomas Puckey (Lensbomen, Amsterdam, picture 4, more information) is a tree containing discs of glass. The artwork would have extra dynamics when transparent glasses where used so the area and sky was magnified or deformed.

The artwork Untitled by Tomas Saraceno (London, picture 6, more information) is located in a park. The nature (trees, clouds) is reflected by the shiny surface. Due to the rectangular shapes of the artwork, it seems, that portions of the surroundings are cut away, are manipulated.

Gripping, stilly and touching
This work of art makes you to come closer and lets you silently reflect on the present, the past and the future. The broken glass in which the air is reflectes makes you reflect on unimaginable violence, about vulnerability of life, about the world in which we live. Eventually I feel hopeful because of the light and that I have the opportunity to make the world a little more peaceful.
The artwork is made up of glass pTranslation
lates and I think involuntarily on grave stones. The glass bounced off the air, the light, the dark and the shadows. A monumental, strong and hopeful text on the Standing Panel. The broken glass makes it clear that it is vulnerable. The shape and the material speaks to the imagination, is significant and yet time and again also meaningful. The work of art is located in a park in the center of the city, along a hiking route, in addition to benches etc. On the standing plane sometimes pebbles which shows that Jews have commemorated their dead (it's a Jewish use to in memory pebbles on a tombstone to explain). At a grave monument I often get useful to past past thinking and the irreversible death. This monument helps me to go with the indescribable drama that took place in Auschwitz. In my opinion, this is one of the most telling works of art that gives hope and Starter to the world something loving.

Shape
The artwork is made up of glass panels, with an associates with tombstones. The glass reflects the sky, the light, the darkness and the shadow. A monumental, strong and hopeful text is on the standing panel; never again Auschwitz.
Material
The material is fragile. The shape and the material appeals to the imagination, it’s revealing and meaningful on every occasion.
Location
The artwork is located in a park in the center of town, along a hiking path next to benches etc. In the artwork you can sometimes find pebbles showing that Jews have commemorated their dear dead (it is a Jewish custom to put pebbles in memory of them on a headstone).
Impact
The monument is one of the most striking works of art that give hope in the unspeakable tragedy that took place in Auschwitz.
Meaning
The artwork communicates with the city and its visitors. The message is clear and the artwork invited to come closer. Wertheimpark has become even more important by this resident.

Compared with other artworks
Sky Mirror (New York, picture 1, more information) is giving the nature back to the people. Anish Kapoor says something like:"Look around you, see the beauty of the sky. Take another point of view, see the surroundings from a different side, look upside down". The artwork distorts only a little, namely because of the fisheye.

Meditation gegen das Schweigen by Sylvia Fohrer (Berlin, picture 2, more information) is more difficult to understand, puzzling.

Ansgar Nierhoff’s Die Bastion (Berlin, pictures 3,more information) has a similar shape. The difference is the massiveniss of the work. The question is whether the work gives the visitor a similar consolation.

This sympathetic artwork Glasses Trees by Thomas Puckey (Lensbomen, Amsterdam, picture 4, more information) is a tree containing discs of glass. The artwork would have extra dynamics when transparent glasses where used so the area and sky was magnified or deformed.

The monument Dani Karavan for Roma and Sinti (Berlin, picture 5, more information) gives respect and invites you to commemorate together and ponder, like Jan Wolkers does.

The artwork Untitled by Tomas Saraceno (London, picture 6, more information) is located in a park. The nature (trees, clouds) is reflected by the shiny surface. Due to the rectangular shapes of the artwork, it seems, that portions of the surroundings are cut away, are manipulated.

www.auschwitz.nl:
Jan Wolker about the monument: a Memorial on the spot where the ashes of the victims of the concentration camp Auschwitz in Dutch Earth peace, seem like an impossible task. How can you find a form to remember a crime which you feel that that have not yet erased will be like our planet about two or two thousand centuries in the universe will have been resolved. You can afpijnigen your brain bursting or there is an image that would approximate that shame and suffering that looming could see. You look at the sky and you does not understand that that blue expanse above that dismay has stood, equally unfazed and peaceful as above a meadow with flowers. And in a vision of Justice you see the blue sky above you draw full crack, as if the horror that took place there on Earth under her for good eternity has violated. So I got the idea to broken mirrors on that little piece of Earth above that urn with ashes to put down. For good can this place be reflected the sky no longer intact.
