Vollaers and Pascal Madje Black are a duo. The command for this work of art was to give color to the district. The artists gave the tunnel a face-lift by the ceiling in different colors to paint and to confirm on the slope colored plates.

The bus stop by Madje Vollaers and Pascal Black is a eye-catcher on the grey asphalt colored. by the bus stop to if in the Sun. Been sitting in the box is the world beyond a multicolor scene, where cars, buses and passers-by seem to play a role. But not only the bus shelter is equipped with color: the object is by the procedure of Vollaers and black form a unit with the adjoining viaduct. On either side of the viaduct, if bridge railings, low plastic sheets made in the same color jobs as the box. If you are under the viaduct runs, you see this color jobs back in the ceiling. In the new housing development, at Darling Street, gives the object on different street levels a happy effect. Vollaers (1964) and black (1961) founded in 1991 Studio VollaersZwart on, a design agency for interdisciplinary design and Visual communication.
Vollaers and black designs for the outdoor space, where the interaction between various disciplines is important. Their first joint project was ' Koer Locale ' (1992) at the artists ' initiative W139 in Amsterdam. This interdisciplinary exhibition consisted of contributions from about 60 designers, fashion designers, chefs, architects, musicians and visual artists. They gave the participants the command to make a design outside their own discipline.
The work of Vollaers and black in recent years fits within the same thinking. They work on the border between various disciplines such as design, sculpture and architecture. Their work area is largely in the public domain. They make designs for the outdoor space, but also give exhibitions form. Also on urban level they are active: they came up with the term ' citydressing ' for projects that the outdoor space equipped with a recognizable and striking appearance. The bushok in the Bijlmer is an example of ' citydressing ', as well as the decoration of the Amsterdam inner city during the marriage of Willem-Alexander and Máxima in February 2002.
Vollaers and black designed not only a Visual Unit, but also a hearing. The Beurs van Berlage and some buildings on the Dam and the Town Hall were adorned with banners in the colours red, white, blue, Orange, light blue and gold. The colors also came back in the posters that adorned the town in the run up of the marriage. The auditory connecting element were the many carillons and barrel in Amsterdam, which after the wedding tango ' Adiós Nonino ' played.
